JUNIOR children from Chard School spent a day by the sea investigating the secrets of the Jurassic Coast.

Starting at Charmouth, the children enjoyed a slide show and presentation by Charmouth Heritage Centre warden Meryl before strolling down to the beach in search of fossils.

They found belemnites and ammonites, and some also found crinoids, fool’s gold, and even some washed up fish, including a whole cuttlefish.

They then went to Lyme Regis to visit the museum where they had to hunt for clues to questions before enjoying a demonstration by Chris Andrew in the Guildhall.
