LEE Hart and Martin Pettingell, partners at Taunton-based law firm Clarke Willmott LLP, have attended a House of Commons reception to celebrate the work being done by Brainwave, a charity providing therapy for children with additional needs.

Clarke Willmott and staff at its Taunton office have been working with Brainwave for a number of years, supporting the charity through events and helping set up the charity’s business forum.

Brainwave’s South-West community manager Paul Smith said: “Brainwave is so very grateful for the ongoing support of Clarke Willmott, which we value highly.

"To be able to say thank you and, hopefully, inspire further support in such esteemed surroundings is a real pleasure.”

Brainwave helps children achieve greater independence, aiming to improve mobility, communication skills, and learning potential, through a range of educational and physical therapies.

It works with children with a range of conditions including autism, brain injuries, such as cerebral palsy, and genetic conditions, such as Down’s Syndrome.

The charity, whose president is the Countess of Wessex, has specialist centres in Somerset, Essex and Cheshire and it now impacts on the lives of over 600 children with additional needs.

Mr Hart, personal injury specialist, said: “The House of Commons event was a fantastic tribute to the great work achieved by Brainwave.

"The charity has an immeasurable impact in our local communities and we are delighted to be supporting them and look forward to growing our partnership even further.”

Clarke Willmott has six offices nationally and more than 70 partners.

It employs over 450 staff across its offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Southampton and Taunton.

It delivers a wide range of legal services for businesses and private clients, including corporate and commercial, intellectual property, employment and HR consultancy, property, planning, construction, dispute resolution, personal injury, clinical negligence, insolvency and debt recovery.
