A SOMERSET woman will get to fulfil her lifetime ambition by being part of the world-renowned Miami Dolphins cheerleader squad.

Holly Warden is Britain's first ever cheerleader, and will make her NFL debut in front of an expected sell out 65,000 fans at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday (September 25).

The Miami Dolphins host the Cleveland Browns in their first home fixture of the season.

For Holly this is a dream come true, and speaking ahead of the game she said: “I have been looking forward to this moment my whole life.

"To perform in front of a sell-out crowd for the Miami Dolphins will be an incredible honor and privilege.”

“Cheerleading is about physical and mental strength as well as agility and athleticism.

"We are truly ambassadors of the Miami Dolphins, not only cheering at the games, but also active in our community visiting schools and hospitals, and raising the spirits of our troops abroad.”

The Miami Dolphins became the first NFL team to host auditions internationally, searching for enthusiastic, charismatic and talented women in Bogota, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; South Florida and Mexico City, Mexico; where Holly auditioned, to represent one of the most prestigious teams in the NFL.

Dolphins senior director of Brand Impact and Entertainment, Dorie Grogan said: “These 36 ladies were selected from the largest turnout for Miami Dolphins Cheerleader Auditions. More than 800 ladies registered to be the next Miami Dolphins Cheerleader.”

“We are delighted to have Holly on the squad. The Dolphins cheerleaders are one of the most diverse groups in professional sports, and our international auditions are a continuation of our goal to add diversity and international talent to our squad.”

Holly is hoping to be cheering on compatriot Jay Ajayi who is likely to make his first start for the Dolphins this season.

London born Ajayi, 23, is now favourite to start as Miami’s running back following the injury to Arian Foster last weekend.
