THE Taunton Thespians are set to perform a Noel Coward play this week at the Tacchi Morris Arts Centre.

Titled 'Star Quality', the comedy-drama based on a 1950s short story by Coward himself has been adapted by Christopher Luscombe.

Making its debut in 2001, Star Quality stages the fascinating story of a young playwright, Bryan Snow.

The plot dances around the backstage antics leading up to Snow's new play's first performance.

Taunton Thespians have meticulously crafted an authentic 1951 backstage world teeming with a variety of engaging characters.

The audience can anticipate a series of riveting sequences featuring a mercurial leading lady, a single-minded director, hardened old troupe members, and an innocent young playwright.

The escalating clash of egos promises to bring both intensified drama and humour.

Thespians' President Councillor John Hunt will be present to welcome distinguished guests at the Wednesday night performance.

The show will run from Tuesday, March 12 to Saturday, March 16, at 7.30pm, with a special Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

For those interested in purchasing tickets, they can be obtained from tacchi-morris.com, by phone on 01823 414141, or through the Taunton Visitor Centre.
