WIVELISCOMBE failed to add to their league points and dropped from fifth to eighth in the Western Counties West league after this defeat to second placed Cullompton.

The away sides' support play and ball handling was excellent and they were rewarded with two tries from wing forward Dan Stevens with flyhalf Jared Allen adding the two conversions.

Wiveliscombe needed to create some scoring opportunities themselves otherwise they were in for a difficult afternoon, they posted thier first points on the score board with a Dan Quick penalty after Cullompton failed to release in the tackle.

Wivey added to their points with a well constructed move resulting in a try for prop Will Ellis, Dan Quick added the conversion. 10pts 14pts. 

Cullompton held the upper hand for the remainder of the first half and created numerous scoring opportunities one of which was finished by Dan Stevens for his third.

Eye catching flyhalf Jared Allen who showed good skills throughout the game crossed for the visitors bonus point try. Both these tries were converted by Tom Frankpit giving Cullompton a 10pts 28pts lead at half time.

Wiveliscombe had to show good resolve playing up the slope in the second half and to their credit they had some decent periods of play.

They were outscored two tries to three with the visitors full back Alex Brooks crossing for two and No8 Tom Bradner scoring Cullomptons seventh try.

Wiveliscombe, Finished the game strongly and constructed two well taken tries through winger Sam Gibbs and fullback Jake Sharland to bring some respectability to the final score.
